Maradona In Argentine's Heart

General Manager of the Argentine national team, Carlos Bilardo, Tuesday, confirmed that the door is still open to possible return of former national team coach, Diego Maradona.

Maradona led Argentina to the quarter-finals of World Cup 2010 in South Africa, where they were crushed 0-4 by Germany, and his contract was not renewed by the Argentina Football Association (AFA).

Bilardo admitted that he had never spoken with the Argentine living legend since then, but he did not rule out the possibility of reconciliation.

"We did not talk much. Since 1983, with Diego, we fight at least as much as 40 times," said Bilardo told France Football magazine.

"For the last year and a half, (the relationship) is over. But you can not say 'never,' he added, when asked about the chances of Maradona returned to the squad.

Regarding the failure of Maradona in the World Cup, Bilardo said, "He should have stayed. But he wanted to retain all staff technique and we do not agree with it. He said,` all or nothing. `We told him," All? No! And he went. "

Bilardo led the forces of Argentina, with Maradona rely, to win the World Cup triumph in Mexico 1986, but relations between the two men were never harmonious.

After the contract was not renewed as a coach, Maradona said that he had `cheated 'by the AFA president, Julio Grondona, and` betrayed `by Bilardo.

Maradona then replaced by Sergio Batista, who was replaced by Alejandro Sabelle following the defeat of Argentina in the Copa America quarter-finals of this year.
